Calling all Alaska Native artists!
The Alaska Native Heritage Center is pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity for Alaska Native writers and other artists, and we’d like to ask your help in spreading the word.
Alaska Native Playwrights Project (ANPP) seeks to identify, teach and nurture Alaska Native playwrights and to establish a repertoire of uniquely Alaska Native plays derived from the rich oral tradition of Alaska’s eleven indigenous cultures and the artists’ own personal narratives.
We’re hoping to recruit writers from across the state for this year-long mentorship. Here’s how you can help:
· PLEASE POST the attached Call for Participants, Artist Application and FAQ Sheet.
· Application and information also available online at www.alaskanative.net. Under Calendar of Events is a hyperlink to the Alaska Native Playwrights Project (ANPP) page.
· For more information: Email ebourgeois@alaskanative.net or call (907) 330-8057. Contact me for an email version of the announcement and materials, which you are welcome to distribute electronically to any and all who might be interested.
· Please treat as TIME SENSITIVE. The deadline for artist applications is October 5, 2009.
Thank you for your help publicizing this opportunity for Alaska Native artists.
