Hang in there College students. You've gone this far already, and May is just around the corner. You all are making us proud here in the North Slope and you ARE doing the right thing by attedning College. This will be a good investment for you in the future since jobs in the North Slope are getting very scarce. You're almost there! So hang in there and study, study, study.

I've been there before. I went to school in Hawaii, and that was such a change from Alaska. I mean, clearly, but culturally, it was very similar.

For the students in school, you've accomplished a lot since August, and Claudia is right, May is just around the corner. All you have left are big projects, and then finals. Whaling will always be here, and so will your hometown. Education is something that will get you back home, so do take it seriously. If you are feeling lonely or homesick, home is always a phone call away. If your out of state, just think that you will be home in five to six weeks or less That's just a few short classes away!
