I don't really measure things out...but I'll list how I make caribou soup
You will need:
Cubed caribou meat in bite sized pieces.
bone meat from caribou (I use a putiq bone cracked in half and brisket, you can also add oorug meat)
Half an onion chopped
a couple cloves of garlic crushed and chopped
two tomatoes or a can of stewed tomatoes
a carrot sliced
a couple of potatoes cubed
rice or pasta....or both
a bay leaf
salt and pepper to taste
I put the meat and bone in a large pot and then fill with water till it is about an inch above the meat. I set heat to high. I then add all ingredients except the rice or pasta. When it boils I reduce heat to medium low to maintain simmer and add the rice/pasta. Soup is done when the rice pasta is done. Remeber to remove bay leaf when you see it and throw it away ...don't eat it! Sometimes I add red peppers and hot sauce to add a spicy kick to it!
You can add and subtract ingredients to your liking!
